While the bridal shower is usually a traditional gathering to play games, there is no reason why you can’t also play games at your bachelorette party. The key to a few fun, organized games at the bachelorette party is to keep them short, make the rules easy to follow and make sure you can play every game with a champagne glass in your hand!
Bachelorette Party: Newlywed-to-be-game
In this classic game, you need to plan a little bit ahead, but it’s worth it for the funny moments. Call or email the groom with a list of questions about the bride, and ask him to write down what he thinks her answers will be. Then let the bride answer the questions. Sometimes the differences are quite surprising! As a bonus round, you can play it in reverse.
Let the bride-to-be answer a couple questions before you go out, then you give the guests a multiple choice test to see how well they know the bride. If you’re a small, close-knit group, you can ask everyone to answer the questions. This game is a great way to test the knowledge of the bridal party to see how well they really know the bride-to-be. Guests take turns choosing a random question and trying to answer it. The person who knows the bride-to-be best wins!
Truth or Dare
For this bachelorette party game, write up a set of index cards with truths, dares, and memories for the bride, and tie six-inch multicolored silk ribbons to the corner of each card. While the rest of the group plays truth or dare as usual, every time you get to the bride, whip out a card and pose her that challenge. If she finishes the challenge, she gets the ribbon which she can redeem for a drink for one of her guests.
Never have I ever
It’s a classic for a reason, and especially good when the guests have a few drinks. Each player completes the phrase “Never have I ever ___” with a true statement. The rest of the group takes a drink if the statement doesn’t apply to them. This game is a perfect way to get a smile on everyone’s face. You can do this in a restaurant, bar or at someone’s home. It only requires good cocktails. Take turns to come up with deeds that you’ve never done. The more outrageous, the better!
A scavenger hunt is great for a bachelorette party. Let the bridesmaids come up with a list of ridiculous things that the bride-to-be should do over the course of the night. Make sure you bring your camera so you can capture every moment. It’s a fun way to add a unique twist to a traditional bachelor party.
Come up with 5-10 bachelorette categories and write them on a separate card. Make it as easy or difficult as you want. The topics can range from wedding dress designers to species of flowers and famous wedding movies. Everyone gets a turn to choose a card and then has 10 seconds in which to list an item in that category. If the player can not think of an item in the category, they’re out and they have to take a drink!
Lingerie Guessing Game
Everyone brings one piece of lingerie that best describes their personality. Distract the bride while you hang each item somewhere in the room. When all the items are somewhere in the room, the bride walks around and write down to whom she believes each piece of lingerie belongs. See how much she can guess right. Have her take a drink for each one she gets wrong.
